What to Pack for a Jersey Shore Weekend
A practical packing list built around our rooftop pool, spa, and dining rooms, by season.
Guests tend to either over-pack for a shore weekend or forget the one thing they actually needed. Here's what our front desk sees people wish they'd brought, organized by what you'll actually be doing.
For the Rooftop Pool Deck
Bring more sunscreen than feels necessary — ocean-adjacent sun at elevation is stronger than it looks, especially reflecting off the pool deck. A cover-up you don't mind getting a little salty, and sandals rather than flip-flops if you're walking the Boardwalk afterward, both save a mid-trip shopping run.
For Dinner Reservations
Sea Spray Chophouse and Cape May Kitchen both lean smart-casual rather than formal — think collared shirts and sundresses rather than suits. The Tide Table and Inlet Grill are fully casual, so pack one slightly nicer outfit for the milestone dinner and don't overthink the rest.
For the Spa
Salt Cove Spa provides robes and slippers, so there's no need to pack your own. A swimsuit for the relaxation lounge's steam room is worth bringing if you're planning a spa afternoon.
The single most-forgotten item, by a wide margin, is a light layer for the evening — ocean breezes cool the Boardwalk down faster than guests expect, even in summer.
For the Gaming Floor
No formal dress code, but most guests dress a step up from beachwear for an evening on the floor. A light jacket or cardigan covers both the temperature drop and the slightly more polished dining rooms nearby.
Seasonal Notes
Spring and fall trips benefit from a packable rain layer — ocean weather shifts fast. Winter guests should pack for genuinely cold Boardwalk walks; the wind off the water cuts through a light coat faster than an inland winter would suggest.
The Takeaway
Pack for four contexts — pool, dinner, spa, and an evening walk — rather than a generic beach trip, and you'll cover almost everything the resort actually offers.
